Why is it so hard to find a salon that specializes in ethnic hair?

Granted I don't live in Atlanta, GA but there's still a very large population of ethic people who live in what is known in California as the ';Bay Area';. Why don't these salons advertise more than just word of mouth? Why is it so hard to find a salon that specializes in ethnic hair?
I am sure that you can find one that is close to you. I live in Baltimore and granted it is Chocolate City, we have more ethnic salons than you can imagine. Google them or go to one of the other salons and ask them for a recommendation of a good place. Being that our hair is delicate, you want to choose a good place. If you are adventurous, there are alot of at home products that work well. I used to go to the salon all of the time but in college I decided to do my own and it is cheaper and you can get it just the way you like. Oh and anyone who thinks that we can't afford to open our own shops, must be an idiot bcuz it is a very big business! Why is it so hard to find a salon that specializes in ethnic hair?
Because a lot of people do not know how to do ethnic hair. My mom has been a cosmetologist for over 20 years and she has done every hair you can imagine but was never taught how to do ethnic hair. It's very hard to do ethnic hair because it's so course and different then caucasion hair. Generally ethnic people have ';weaves'; so it can't be handled like other hair. Hope this helps! :)
because there are not many ethnic people who are willing to pay the amoun tof money that it takes to open a salon
Where I live there's about 13 lol
