Anybody know of a good hair salon in Chicago that does African American hair?

I can't afford anyplace expensive, but the places I've been going have not impressed me. I intend to put chemicals in my hair so I need a place that does highlights and relaxers (obviously not at the same time).Anybody know of a good hair salon in Chicago that does African American hair?

Don't go to Ossama's or Yehia's -- they will ';kill'; your hair with the blowdrying. The Egyptians are really damaging black hair.

The best choices are:

Andy's Hair Studio: 1421 S. Wabash, 312-341-9101 (Go to Andy himself or David McRavin)

Toss Hair Salon: 60 E 13th St., 13th and Wabash, (312) 986-8677. (All of the stylists are good, especially the owner, Phillip, or Robert or Vanita)

Abyss Salon: 67 E 16th St, 16th St. bet. Michigan and Wabash, 312-880-0263 (Sharron or Stephanie, but Stephanie is very slow)
Ossama's Hair Design
