If I got my hair straightened at a salon, how long will the straight hair last?

I have naturally curly hair. How long will the straight hair last, and how much might it cost? Will wetting it cause it to curl back again. Is this usually done for the effect to last just a day?

Thank you girls. If I got my hair straightened at a salon, how long will the straight hair last?
It depends what kind of straightening you got at the salon. If it was the normal kind of straightening with an iron, it should stay fairly straight up until you wash it or even get it a little bit wet. Humidity also causes it to get wavy again.

Usually this is just meant to be for one or two days.If I got my hair straightened at a salon, how long will the straight hair last?
It Ussually lasts about 1-3 days depending on your hair.

And yea Water will cause it to curl up again :p
depends what straightening treatment the salon uses. usually about 6 weeks and the cost depends on your hair lenght and how much hair you have. usually about 100 or so. and no water wont make it go curly they recommend not to wash your hair daily though so it will last longer
it depends on the treatment they used, since many different companies offer different ones in varying strengths. don't get your hair wet at all (no walking in the rain, no shower) for 2-3 days so that the chemical has time to really set into your hair. It should last until your hair grows out, so that all depends on how quickly your hair grows. my aunt is a salon stylist so I get everything at cost, and i give her $65 each time she straightens my hair. I've heard it costing several hundred dollars, depending on the salon you go to. Also, if one section of your hair is more curly or has stronger more resistant to straightening curls, make sure you tell your stylist so she can apply the straightening chemical there first so it will set in longer.

***Also, it is VERY important that you remember exactly what chemical/formula they used on your hair!!!!*** Some of the ones you cannot mix with others and if you do, ALL your hair will just fall out!! so it is extremely important to either use the same one each time or use one that is ok to use when you've used a different chemical previously. ALWAYS be aware and make sure your stylist is aware of this too. it has happened to girls and they've lost all their hair as a result of a stylist not knowing about this.
