How can I get a talented/good stylist when scheduling at a salon I've never been to?

I'm trying a new salon for my next hair cut. When I called, the receptionist asked who I want to book with...hmm I wish I knew!





I know what I want- layering and volume and I haven't had a stylist create the look I'm after in quite a while (hence my search for a stylist is in progress!) Any way to politely request I get scheduled with someone talented ? Thanks!How can I get a talented/good stylist when scheduling at a salon I've never been to?
You could go in before you make an appoinment and ask if you can sit and watch how the stylists are. Just tell them that you are between stylists and you want to try to find a new salon. Most salons will let you because they want your business. Pay more attention on how the stylists listen to their clients instead of if you like the people's hair when they're done. That will tell you if they will be a good stylists. I've seen some of the best stylists ruin peoples hair because they don't listen to what the client wanted done.How can I get a talented/good stylist when scheduling at a salon I've never been to?
you could ask them which stylist is the best or you could watch to see which 1 is the best there
