Is it safe to take a baby into a hair salon?

I want to get a haircut but the only way I can do it is if I bring my baby with me (I can't leave her at home with a sitter yet - I trust no one!!) - I can have someone watch her there while I get my haircut (she'll be closeby in the waiting area) but I am concerned about the chemicals that might be in the air there (sprays, hair dyes, etc). What do you think?Is it safe to take a baby into a hair salon?
Just make sure she's in a safe distance,maybe by a door or a window.

When my daughter was 7 weeks old, I was in my sister's wedding. I had to take her with us to the hair salon since I was breastfeeding and we'd be there for hours. The other bridesmaids or my sis held her when I was getting my hair done. The ladies who worked there propped the door and they sat over by the door. (someone was getting a perm.)
I also didn't know if it was ok to bring a baby into a hair salon but at my last appointment, the grandbaby to one of the stylists was there and he was only 2 weeks old - I guess it just depends on how you feel about it, since you're going to have someone there with you if it's possible maybe that person could walk around outside with the baby, my daughter loves being outside.
