Any good tanning salons that charge 20 per month in NY city or Brooklyn? ?

You (don't) get what (don't) you pay for.

Anything really affordable may not be fine place to be unless its a promotion for a few months where the price will jump to $45 and up per month.

Some will charge a low price but want you to have a 3 month or more contract and take the funds straight out of your checking account so even if you can make it, you're still paying.

You can look on http://www.hollywoodtans.com/findus.asp and see if you get something near to you in brooklyn.

What should i do for a Hair Salon ad?

I am working on an ad about my uncle's hair salon gift certificates. I need good ideas that will make people want to buy the certificates, but at the same time not pressuring them. Something neat, pretty, or catchy. I need advice please! What should i do for a Hair Salon ad?
For a salon, you probably want to sell the ';experience'; rather than the individual services. This is especially relevant for gift certificates. So think about all the services that the salon offers, and present it in a different way. For example- if the salon offers spa manicures and/or pedicures, then sell them together as a pampering pack (or something like that). Then you could use a sales pitch such as: ';Treat yourself. Don't you deserve it?';

In this case, it might be best to sell certificates for certain ';packages'; rather than just dollar amounts. Take a similar approach for other gift-giving situations (moms, girlfriend/wife, etc.).

Some basics to remember as you create the ad. (1) Make sure it fits with the brand image of the salon- this means it should be consistent with the retail store branding (colors, brand logo, etc). (2) Make sure it fits with the needs/wants of the target customer. (3) Make sure it follows the basics of message content and arrangement (see a Marketing or Advertising textbook) and has all the relevant information (such as your location, website address, etc.).

I would also HIGHLY recommend that you get feedback from actual consumers on a few draft ads before finalizing anything.

Good luck!!What should i do for a Hair Salon ad?
well if youre doin a commercial then u should have people with their hair done uo nicely and showing their hair sayin stuff like '; would u like 2 have YOUR hair like this'; or something

if its a radio then u could have people who have already had their done at dat shop to speak on their experiences )make shure their experience was good(
Hairdressers use one type of advertising, which is word of mouth. If you go to the hairdresser and get a good haircut, then your friends will want to go their too.

So on that theme, I would write on the certificates ';I liked my hair cut so much I had to get a friend a gift certificate';.

It seems a little long, but what about ';I can't believe it is not butter';?

But basically I would be giving them away to regular customers.
Make the gift certificate with a discount instead of full price.

How do i open my own tanning salon?

    Hey everyone,

I am 17 and i am in college, while in college i have been thinking about opening my own tanning salon. How can i open one when i have no money and no credit? Is there organizations or people i can go to? Could i get some grants even though im under age? Can my boyfriend get a grant for me even though he doesnt have any money or good credit either???How do i open my own tanning salon?
Tanning salons just underwent a large amount of bad publicity regarding skin cancer, etc. Therefore, I do not think this is the best current business idea. How do i open my own tanning salon?
Search the sites of www.tantoday.com and www.tantalk.com. I think it will be an eye opener for you. I have seen posters state that you need around $200,000.00 to open a salon. Depending on how big you want, it will not be that much. Leasing the equipment is an option. I know someone who said she would never go that route again. She paid about 3 times the cost of the beds in only 3 years. I would not recommend getting that deep in debt at 17. I do not think it is even legal for someone under 18 to sign a contract in some states.
grants are usually for non profit organizations

there are SBA loans but unless it is something like $1000000, there are not many 'small' loans out there

a tanning salon has a lot of liability and unless you have lots of money and plenty of liability insurance, not a good idea

What is the difference between a hair salon and barber shop?

A salon typically offers a full menu of services for women (color, texturizers, cuts, waxes, makeup, nails, etc) and the same services are available for men. Barber shops specialize in men's hair cuts (shears and clippers), hair designs (using trimmers), and facial hair care. But services vary depending on state regulations. What is the difference between a hair salon and barber shop?
Barber Shops are more old style, and Hair Salons are more new styles and Barber shops charge less usually and hair salsons charge more usually. What is the difference between a hair salon and barber shop?
    About $50! ;-)

Plus, at a salon, they are always up on the latest looks and color techniques.
