Is there a salon that gets rid of ur lice for you?

is there one? and if so how much would it be?Is there a salon that gets rid of ur lice for you?
actually there are salon's that are for lice treatment only, i don't think this person is talking about a styling salon obviously! there are places out there that will pick through your hair one stand at a time, that is what they are there for. it is time consuming but as far as i am concerned nit picking is the only way to rid a person of lice. the shampoos only kill the bugs and the combs do not take the nits out. so you have to pick them out. since they are so small you have to look at each individual strand. so what if you are single and have no one to do this for you, this is where the the lice salons come in. they are very pricey some range from 50-100 dollars an hour and it will take 2-3 hours for most people with longer or thicker hair.

for all of you who say don't go to the salon it will spread it, your just simple. try thinking and answering first. if your answering on yahoo you must have internet access so try searching the subject before you give a wrong answer, that is how i found the correct answer. the salons are on the internet just look around sweetie it will be okIs there a salon that gets rid of ur lice for you?
No. You can't go to a salon to get it done because lice can be transferred to other people very easily, and working in a hair business, that would be very bad. You'll have to get an at home treatment and do it yourself. I was kicked out of a place when I was 12, and getting my hair cut, because I had lice... but I was lucky that the woman was nice enough to finish up the hair cut she had started on me.
dont go to a salon! it will spread to everyone else..get someone to get you some lice shampoo. or you could put mayonnaise on your head and put a shower cap over it and let it sit for a while..it helps the lice go away(:
Not that I know of. But these soaps kill lice on your hair. But you have to make sure to wash your sheets and pillow case in hot water as well:

If a Salon finds lice in your hair, they will not serve you. So the answer to this is obvious, no.

How long does salon hair color stay in?

If I get permanent hair color put in by a salon, how long does it typically last (if I take care of it with color formulated hair care products)? Although it should be permanent (or until the roots grow completely out), I wanted to check because I use a store bought kit that is permanent, but because it is auburn (red shades fade quicker than any other), it typically lasts less than 2 months. At the salon it will be colored auburn also. Thank you for any help. How long does salon hair color stay in?
it's really important to get a filler put on especially for the ends..is your hairdresser putting a filler in before the color? ..sally's beauty supply carries fillers..i'd buy the clear and see if you can keep the color alittle longer....they are carrying the reds, browns and gold but the clear should helpHow long does salon hair color stay in?
It really all depends on your hair.

Like my mothers lasts for five months and mine lasts for one.

But box dye that you buy at Sallys, Walmart or anywhere is just as good as the salons. Stays in the same amount of time.

    Good luck!

How do i grow dreadlocks without going to the salon?

i want to put my hair into dreadlocks with home made remedies. How do i grow dreadlocks without going to the salon?
Neglect your hair. It worked for me now I am the most popular kid in school. How do i grow dreadlocks without going to the salon?
stop washing, cutting and combing your hair.
don't wash your hair and don't do any combing. It will smell funky after a while.
do not de-tangle. Back-combing will also speed up the process.
Don't wash your hair for a year.
    YOU CAN';T

    HAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAH
Don't wash or comb your hair for a while.
Go to a retail beauty products store such as Sally, or Ruby Red and get a product called Lock and Grow Gel. It's in a yellow and white container, and you part your hair diagonally starting from the back. In sections, apply the gel and twist your hair until it's firm. Follow instructions on label.
People telling you not to wash your hair are not very knowledgeable about hair-locking. Products like gels and waxes are also not optimal for locking as they cause build-up and may hinder the locking process rather than aid it. Of course, you must keep your hair and scalp clean.

Are you trying to achieve a lock effect or do you actually want to lock your hair? You can achieve a lock effect with products like Molding Mud which washes out. But actually locking your hair is a PROCESS. You don't put your hair into locks, they grow into a permanent locked pattern with or without cultivation depending on your hair type.

The technique for locking your hair is going to depend on its texture. If your hair is kinky, you can twist it, palm-roll or braid it to start locks. If your hair is curly, you can use the twist method also. If your hair is straight, I would recommend you consider going to a loctician to achieve the look you want.

BTW...I don't 'know someone' with locks, I HAVE them. so good luck on your journey. Give careful thought to what you want to achieve. If you want to GROW your hair into locks, I can give you some other references that will work for you.

Goodluck! How can i go about starting my own hair salon business?
I think you might need to get insurance. The salon I work for has it for all of us. One time, someone tried to sue over something ridiculous and the corporation stepped in. And nothing happened after that. I couldn't imagine what would have happened to my friend/co-worker otherwise. I know that hardly ever happens, but you never know.
Think about taking some business courses at an adult education center or a college near you. They offer a lot of these classes at night, so you can find ones that fit your schedule. These classes can teach you how to better manage your business. You could also try and find an online course if that suits you better.

It's probably a good idea to get some knowledge about running a business before you attempt to start one, or find a partner who knows what they are doing business-wise

    Best of luck!

Is it more practical to dye your hair at home than get it done at a salon?

I have been meaning to dye my hair 1 to 2 shades lighter. My natural hair color is dark brown and I want it to be a lighter shade of brown, or maybe even an auburn color. But with my long hair length, it will be quite expensive to get it dyed at the salon. So I thought to just buy the hair coloring kit and dye my hair at home. Is that advisable? Is it more practical to dye your hair at home than get it done at a salon?
Hmmm I always dye darker at home, but go in to get it lightened in the summer. For some reason going lighter scares me to do it myself. Why don't you call and find out how much it would cost.

Good luck!Is it more practical to dye your hair at home than get it done at a salon?
Well.. Yes.. It lasts a shorter amount of time, but its cheaper AND comes in many cute colors!!!
It's better to do it at a salon because if you do it at home and you mess up your just gonna have to go to a salon to fix it and then you'll have to pay like two times more than you wanted. I've had it happen to me three times.
yes i think dying it urself is much more affordable with about the same results.....but this is only if ur dying ur hair about 2 shades darker or lighter than it is. if the shade is more than that i wuld get it done professionally. also if ur hair is very long(past ur shoulders) i suggest buying 2 boxes...and using most of both or until u think u covered all of ur hair with the dye

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
yeah it would probably be cheaper to do it yourself at home...just go to the store buy a kit with the shade you want(make sure it's the right one) purchase it...then just go home and do it yourself.

tip:have a friend over to help out if needed
    since your going lighter,

i would advise going to a salon,

dying your hair darker is quite a bit easier

    than going lighter,

which takes quite a while to do on your own.

there is no harm in trying it at home,

but personally i would say to go with

    a hairdresser.
i think it would be more practical, its cheaper and you can actually do it the way you want. Find a towel that you don't mind messing up, and a place that the dye wont stain, and you will be good to go.

If you have dark hair then stay dark, don't go blonde.
yes...you can do it at home,,have a friend help you
I do it at home alot, it works good, but somtimes it takes to trys for the color you want, but at the salon (which i go to somtimes) the results are better, but its up to you.
Don't do it. My friend started to die her hair at home, and she completely ruined it...it never turns out right. It is a lot to go to a salon but the results are so much better and it lasts a lot longer too. You can find a cheaper salon too and it would probably still look better then dying your hair from a box.
It all depends, if you're only doing a minor adjustment, I would advise you not to go the salon, cause' it's really not worth it. I went to the salon last week to get the inside-bottom of my hair dyed black, and frankly, it really wasn't worth $50. I could've done it at home myself, and I wasn't that happy with what they did. They didn't dye enough of the hair and you can barely notice it. =/ That's just my opinion. I went to the salon because it was the first time I ever dyed my hair and since it was black, I didn't want to make any mistakes. But since you're only going 1-2 shades lighter, I would deffinatley recommend doing it yourself. Better yet, get a family member/friend who knows what they're doing to do it for you.

    Hope that helps!

I was thinking of getting my hair glossed at a salon, but I was wondering if had it done before and what they thought of it? Is it good? Does it damage your hair? What do they do to your hair and how long does it take etc?Has anyone ever had their hair glossed in a salon?
Not worth the money at the salon, they sell it in stores do it yourself..Has anyone ever had their hair glossed in a salon?
Glossed is not getting highlights at all. I have had it done a few times before, it doesn't work as well on me because I do highlight my hair, but it makes it very shiny and it does not damage your hair at all, in fact it should help. It is just a kind of gel stuff that they put all over your hair, they leave it on for a while and then rinse it out and cut or style it. It doesn't take near as long as a highlight or even a base color.
yeh its amazing, lasts a couple of weeks, i have it done every 2 months, but as everyone eles says you can buy some good shine products in the shops.
Buy John Frieda products and do it yourself at home.

    Cheaper and same result.

Will another hair salon have the same colours for highlights?

I need to get my highlights touched up, but my hair dresser is on maternity leave so I need to find a new place to go to.

I'm concerned that since its a new place they wont have the exact colour that I had before and they wont be able to match it properly.

What should I do? Do most hair salons have the exact same colours? Will another hair salon have the same colours for highlights?
They should be able to match it up fairly easily. I would call my original salon and get the brand and numbers (etc) from your color. Most places keep a card for each customer that lists all this info.

Then call some new salons and ask if they carry that color or if they can order it for you.

I've gone different places that could match up the color just fine - and I'm picky! :-) Good luck! Will another hair salon have the same colours for highlights?
Depends what brands they use. eg - wella, keune, goldwell, delorenzo ect. they can order it 4 u if u find out what number they use on you.
What you should do, is go to the same salon and ask who is taking her clients. Usually when a hairdresser goes out on leave, they leave there files with someone in the salon so that they don't risk loosing there clients to another salon.
    mostly no..

but the different can't see so clear also..

  • How to hold a grand opening at a hair salon?

I'm holding my grand opeaning at my new hairsalon and I need some opeaning ideas, parafin dips, goodie bags, raffle tickets, and entertainment, I guess I need some ideas on selling the services once the client enters the salinHow to hold a grand opening at a hair salon?
Well the point of a grand opening is to make yourself known, so freebies, coupons and advertising are all very important. Since your just now opening, try advertising in your own windows with big posters (the professional kind, not just a white board with hand written grand opening) and make sure it states the date and time really large and advertises your discounts or goodies etc. As for goodie bags, maybe those one time use conditioning treatments? something cheap but useful, bobby pins, travel size brush etc. I'd have some sort of refreshment. Maybe pop, coffee, cheap stuff that you can get a lot of :) maybe get pizzas too? You sound like you need sales help :P well, the biggest thing is to get them INTO the salon, then once they're there, don't over bug them, print up some coupons and maybe something with specials and stuff on it, make it worth their while to come in and give it a try, be nice but try to be genuine, no one likes someone trying way too hard. it may be a good idea to have them have to ask you about prices for things, it engages in conversation and gives you time to show your know how. Also, make sure you have helpers with you, if it gets busy, you don't want a lot of people leaving because they didn't get answers or they had to wait forever. People hate waiting and you'll get stressed if you're rushing everywhere to help someone else out :) as for entertainment, i'm not sure how big your place is, music is always good, maybe do silly games, or have a contest where there are 5 people selected to do hair on 5 different manikin heads (it needs to be timed too!), who ever is voted the best gets something special like a first free cut by you or a free bottle of conditioner or something. People LOVE free stuff and discounts! use your opening to get people to go there so that once they find they like you they'll want to come back and pay more to see you. Hope that helps!! :)How to hold a grand opening at a hair salon?
Goodie bags- nail polish, a coupon for 10$ off haircut, and maybe a shampoo and conditioner sample.

ALL who come to grand opening will be entered into a contest where they can win: highlights, a massage, pedicure, etc. have maybe 3 winners.

Question and answer session: maybe have the stylists available to answer questions, give suggestions for new looks. It'd be an inspirational, educational, and motivational time.

Put ad in newspaper, see if you can set up a table at a college to advertise, have big colorful signs in windows saying the date and time and special offers. All those curious folks won't be able to resist coming to the big day!

Where is your salon? I wish I could go!

How to REMOVE Fake nails without going to the salon?

I got them on professionally at a nail place. How to REMOVE Fake nails without going to the salon?
Get some water put it in a container (needs to be big enough to put your hands in). Heat up the water, not to much though. Place your hands in the warm water and let them rest in there for a couple of minutes. After you take them out your nails will loosen a bit and you can slowly pull/take them off. I always do this when I want to take off my professionally done fake nails. It doesn't hurt if you do it right, promise :)How to REMOVE Fake nails without going to the salon?
Well, you could always do what the nail salon does - heat up nail polish remover and soak it in there and file as well. Once it gets thinner you can do the card drip w/ it, but most of the time playing cards are to flimsy and thing nd will bend - try a thin metal file.
its going to sound weird but it works. take a card, like a playing card and stick it in between the fake nail and your real nail and slowly move in to the opposite side. moving the card around and working it in different angles. if you do it right, the fake nail will pop right off.

Should I be worried about a bleeding cuticle from salon pedicure?

This was a first experience for me. I know they autoclave their instruments, and they applied some stuff that had a powerful sting to stop the bleeding. Not sure if this happens often or if I should be concerned.Should I be worried about a bleeding cuticle from salon pedicure?
You're fine.Should I be worried about a bleeding cuticle from salon pedicure?
no- its alcohol- to kill germs...this is why it stung!!! you'll be fine...just next time let them know no- cuticle cutting, or do this yourself before going in!!!

    you'll be fine! :)
You shouldnt worry but try not to go back there. A place that is clean, sterile and professional will not give you bleeding anything!

Is it better to get a makeup done at the mall or a beauty salon?

Prom is coming up and I want to get my make up done professionally but I'm not sure if I should get it done at the mall or a beauty salon?

Which one offers a better pricing/quality? Does anyone know? thanks. Is it better to get a makeup done at the mall or a beauty salon?
Sephora does FREE makeup! Plus they have all the things you'll need to continue the look (even after prom). Is it better to get a makeup done at the mall or a beauty salon?
    mall
I think that if you call the mall and beauty salon, they can both quote you a price. Then you can go to the best deal. Have you considered doing a practice run? Go to the best deal and have your make up done as a practice run, Then you will be able to tell if they are good. You will not have to experiment on the important day.
I found a great place to get premuim make up. Check out www.naocosmetics.com It gives you awesome tips, plus the make up is incredible.

You can buy the make up from www.eliteliving.us

    Hope this helps!
if you got to the mall and go to clinque estda ladure, lancome and places like that it is fine. But no madder where you go it will cost money
Some salons like ours have our own make artists. If the salon has a make up counter I would say they are qualified. Mac and Sephora and any other make-up counter are qualified to do make-up as well. Bring a picture of what look your going for that helps us out tremendously. Hope this helps!
Do some research, and a see if you can get a pre- run with your make-up to see what it looks like, you don't want to get it done the day of and be totally dissappointed. MAC seems to do a nice job, but I don't know if they do a pre-run.
The beauty salon because they are paid to do your make up
beauty salon cos they are more pro and has study over it but the price will more but it will satisfy you in the end
Whatever you do. DO NOT go to the MAC counter. I have seen numberous girls walk out looking like cheap hookers!!!!

Go to a salon. Go for a trial run first to pick your best colors and if you dont like it you can tweek the colors on your next visit.

    Good Luck and have fun!!!
BEAUTY SALON AT LEAST THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. HAPPY PROM
to me i would ask both places for the price range but if your looking on time wise i would get my make-up done in the hair salon that way when your done doing your hair you can get started on your make-up. AND you'll be saving gas too cause you wouldn't be going from one place to another
of-course and don't buy with priceing but with quality.
When you go to the mall, they are going to want you to purchase something. When you go to a salon, you pay and go. I strongly suggest going to a salon. Consumer makeup (what you buy at the mall) won't give you the quality you want for special occasions.
    Mall/Studio
Ok I know a bunch of these answers say the mall but I wouldn't do that because they are there strictly to try and sell you something. In a salon, and most stylists are trained in makeup application, they couldn't care less about that since that is not where they make their money. Plus it is their job to stay current on whats ';in';. Plus they deal with prom and homecoming girls all the time. I would know I am a stylist. :) Hope this answer helps you. Check out christimarcosmetics. com they have a lot fun colors for the cool and hip!
I would say a salon because they can give you a full great service.

Prices depends on what your getting done, I am not positive on which is better
Beauty salon...they actually know what they're doing. The mall people are just told to test everything no matter how it might turn out and then say it looks great.
It depends. Usually at malls you will find professional make up artists who are trained for that matter and have a lot of experience in what they do. Most make up artists will do a ';make up trial';, this is setting up two appointments, one let's say one month before your event so you can see if you like your make up and another on the actual day of the event, that way you're not stuck with makeup you dont like. Your are not expected to buy on both occasions, you can buy on the first appointment or the second. (But please, out of respect for the time of the artist, do buy something).
at the mall because the hair salon is when u get ur hair and nails done but not ur makeup go to the mall so if u need to get ur nails done u can at the same time.
I'd say Mall. Mall makeup people are so good and they know what looks good on who. Malls are totally FREE and a beauty salon costs like 50 or 60 bucks for an over glamming job. Go for the MALL!
mall they charge cheeper and do a great job
beauty salon babe. congrats you will look gorgeousss
I'd say the mall. I've had it done both places, and when I went to the beauty salon I was completely disappointed as my makup wore off within the first hour of a 6 hour party!

When I went to the mall, my makeup stayed on all night perefectly fine apart from some eyeliner smears which i wiped off with a tissue- it stayed on all night for a party of the same length!

The mall people are used to dealing with all kinds off skin types, beauty salons generally only have a certain group of people per salon (its an assumption, but I think it's right!) Plus mall ladies use a primer and other makeup that keeps it hip and stays all night

    Just my opinion!
OFCOURSE in a well know beauty salon..
beauty salon.the people at the mall might not even know what that is.lol
I'm going to completely honest with you sweetie, sometimes both can be deceiving, so be careful. Go before that special day and try it out in both places... Watch how they do someone elses make up, in that way you know if you might like it...

    Good luck!
The makeup girls at the mall will try to sell you every little thing they have, and will make you look like a clown. Try the salon, they're more likely to give you honest answers, not just make you want to buy their products. Have fun at prom and take lots of pics for memories in the years to come.

How many times can I got to a tanning salon in a week and for how long a session?

I don't burn easily. How many times can I got to a tanning salon in a week and for how long a session?
Do yourself a favor DON'T GO THERE!How many times can I got to a tanning salon in a week and for how long a session?
I used to go 5-7 days a week for a month straight, when I got my base tan, I only went 3 days a week. I started in Feb. and quit going in Aug.
Probably once a week for 20 min
twice a week for 15 minutes or 20 maximum each time.

you can damage your skin even without burning.
may be for half an hour twice a week.
You can go daily, but the people at the salon will be able to tell you exactly how long you can stay in depending on what type of machine you are using.

I wouldn't recommend a machine. The radiation they put out is too intense. Better to get a tan carefully and gradually in the sun, or use a tanning spray.

it's ok to use a tanning bed and you won't look funny. as long as you don't use a lotion with a bronzer you won't get streaky or orange.

Anyone know of any salons that do african hair in Italy, particularly in the North of Italy?

I think you have to go south to find them. Of course, even those Salons don't know the ancient African hair care secrets. Only the tribes of the savanna and the bush do, and they're in Africa. I hear that one very effective treatment involves fresh cow poop.

It's hard for me to believe that your entire state does not have even one decent salon. Usually you can at least find many good salons in the big cities in each state.
I would reccomend going to the phone book and looking for the logo ';Member of NCA'; which is the National Cosmetology association. This means they usually have higher education in the industry. This is very important because it means they are more up to date %26amp; into their craft. If none of the logos appear just call %26amp; ask if they are a member of the National Cosmetology Association.

Should I get my hair conditioned at a salon?

I have extremely damaged hair from straightening, coloring, curling, blow drying, and everything you can imagine since I was in first grade. I started coloring my hair in seventh grade and I know that my hair is super brittle, dry, and damaged. I have heard that you can get your hair conditioned at a hair salon. I want to know if that would help keep my hair healthier, stronger, and actually grow without breaking off.Should I get my hair conditioned at a salon?

yeah you should. I mean it only costs 10-15 bucks at a lot of places.

i'm not saying it will completely turn around the shape of your hair but will help a lot.

also you can use mayonnaise / olive oil / or of the shelves oil treatments

Pour nail polish remover into a bowl and sit in front of the TV for atleast 20 minutes just soaking. Then, try taking off the nails while they are STILL UNDER THE NAIL POLISH REMOVER. I had the same problem as you, but when I tried taking them off while my hand and nails were still soaking in the nail polish remover they came off so easily.
Its not good to take them off yourself, its strips and breaks down the nail and you could get an infection. PLEASEEEE gt the salon the 5 bucks is so worth it!
soak them in nail polish remover and then start to do a litle cliping and stick the pointy end of those metal file and peel off your natural anils might be longer but extremely thin

How much do haircuts cost at a JCPenney Salon?

I'm a guy and just want a regular haircut, nothing else done. I've searched the internet and found nothing. Any help? How much do haircuts cost at a JCPenney Salon?
I bet calling them and asking would do WONDERS.How much do haircuts cost at a JCPenney Salon?
Well, I don't know about a hair cut, but I went to JCP one time to get a spiral perm and they fried me. Just go to a regular salon that does men and women. Don't go to JCP
Yeah just visit your JCPenney and ask them how much would they charge you for a great cut. I think it all depends on the length of the hair.

If I got my hair straightened at a salon, how long will the straight hair last?

I have naturally curly hair. How long will the straight hair last, and how much might it cost? Will wetting it cause it to curl back again. Is this usually done for the effect to last just a day?

Thank you girls. If I got my hair straightened at a salon, how long will the straight hair last?
It depends what kind of straightening you got at the salon. If it was the normal kind of straightening with an iron, it should stay fairly straight up until you wash it or even get it a little bit wet. Humidity also causes it to get wavy again.

Usually this is just meant to be for one or two days.If I got my hair straightened at a salon, how long will the straight hair last?
It Ussually lasts about 1-3 days depending on your hair.

And yea Water will cause it to curl up again :p
depends what straightening treatment the salon uses. usually about 6 weeks and the cost depends on your hair lenght and how much hair you have. usually about 100 or so. and no water wont make it go curly they recommend not to wash your hair daily though so it will last longer
it depends on the treatment they used, since many different companies offer different ones in varying strengths. don't get your hair wet at all (no walking in the rain, no shower) for 2-3 days so that the chemical has time to really set into your hair. It should last until your hair grows out, so that all depends on how quickly your hair grows. my aunt is a salon stylist so I get everything at cost, and i give her $65 each time she straightens my hair. I've heard it costing several hundred dollars, depending on the salon you go to. Also, if one section of your hair is more curly or has stronger more resistant to straightening curls, make sure you tell your stylist so she can apply the straightening chemical there first so it will set in longer.

***Also, it is VERY important that you remember exactly what chemical/formula they used on your hair!!!!*** Some of the ones you cannot mix with others and if you do, ALL your hair will just fall out!! so it is extremely important to either use the same one each time or use one that is ok to use when you've used a different chemical previously. ALWAYS be aware and make sure your stylist is aware of this too. it has happened to girls and they've lost all their hair as a result of a stylist not knowing about this.

Sorry, not quite sure what you are asking. Sun tanning salons typically refer to stores with tanning beds. You can go there to get a tan rather than tanning outside!

How old should you be to be able to get fake nails at a nail salon?

i'M 12 AND GET FAKE NAILS, IS THAT OK?IT'S FUN TO DO WITH FRIENDS!I'VE HEARED IT'S BAD FOR YOU BUT WHY?How old should you be to be able to get fake nails at a nail salon?
You are old enough for it, but I'd really save it for a special occasion, like a wedding or something like that. I would guess that you probably have too much of an active lifestyle and many more fun things going on in your life to always have to worry about how your nails look all the time. It's also quite expensive in the long run. The more often that you have it done, the more it could damage your natural nails, because they file off the top layers of your nails to get the fake nails to bond with your own nails. That leaves your natural nails thinner and weaker. I think it would be much better to have a spa night at home, where you and your friends could all do regular manicures on your own nails, and have a great evening having fun and talking with each other. How old should you be to be able to get fake nails at a nail salon?
Uuuuuhhhhh.... There is no law that puts an age limit on getting fake nails. It's not like you're getting away with something illegal.
There isn't a certain age you have to be to get fake nails. It's not exactly BAD for you, but it's bad for your nails. The less you do, the better it is for yourself, especially at the age of 12. Taking of your fake nails also takes off a layer of your actual, real nail which is painful and unhealthy for your nails. It's entirely up to you (or your mother), but I wouldn't let my daughter do it until her prom days.
    ur too young!!!!!!!!!!!

i got mine when i was 13. it was for an occasion, but still.

but be carefull, when i had them i was always breaking a nail, and yes it hurts alot!!!

also it hurts a little when you take them off, so its your decision when to get them, id say 13-15.
no you are not to young to get fake nails i see a lot of girls have it but. it can be bad if you keep them on to long like a whole month but if you do get fake nails and want to keep them on for a long time then you have to get them done over and over agian but it is up to you if you want to have them
Just grow your nails out. You're only 12. :D

Sorry, not quite sure what you are asking. Sun tanning salons typically refer to stores with tanning beds. You can go there to get a tan rather than tanning outside!

Yes, but the white tip of the manicure will be thin. They might file your nails so they are all the same length as the shortest one too.

Is it dangerous to go into a nail salon while pregnant?

Just wondering if the chemicals or anything in a nail salon was of any harm to a pregnancy? I thought it was, but others have told me no.Is it dangerous to go into a nail salon while pregnant?
As well as breathing in chemicals your skin absorbs chemicals too, why risk it if you're going to the effort of avoiding alcohol, cigarettes and legal and illegal drugs to keep your baby safe?Is it dangerous to go into a nail salon while pregnant?
the chemicals they use in a nail salon is pretty harsh and usually turns into vapor pretty quickly. Short exposures to the fumes won't hurt but prolonged exposure can cause problems to the bun in the oven. it also depends on if they are venting the fumes in the salon and the amount of various chemicals in the air. the question is: how long is too long? i don't really know but i would say if you or someone your with is pregnant get in and get out asap.
I wanted to go to the nail salon with my friend in the beginning of my pregnancy and I called my doctor and she told me the only way I should go in is if I wear a face mask haha. So I didn't go. I take it the chemicals can be harmful. I am sure it wouldn't necessarily hurt the baby going in once but I didn't chance it.
I've researched on this topic for the longest time - I found nothing. The effect of the fumes on the fetus is not known. I've seen pregnant women who WORK in these salons and they seem to be fine. There hasn't been many studies/statistics to prove if it is or if it isn't safe.

I personally, wouldn't go in the nail salon while pregnant...especially if the smell was really strong.
NOt really...its more dangerous to work in a nail shop while pregnant because thats constant inhalation/contact with the chemicals and fumes. But just going to get a mani and pedi shouldnt be too bad.
i wouldn't go to a nail salon if i was in my early stages, the chemicals are not good for a pregnant or non pregnant woman
i went in for a pedicure when i was like ...14 weeks? and my pregnancy's going just fine so far. lol.
I wouldn't go because of the strong fumes.
It's 100% lethal. Such risky work so close to the baby should never be risked

  • Recommend a salon that does scene hair layering for girls?

I like how the layers in the back blend well, while keeping your hair long. Something that stylists in the past always said would look stupid, NOW looks pretty good to me.

Please recommend a salon that does a great job for this kind of hair.Recommend a salon that does scene hair layering for girls?
idk like where u live but make sure to bring pictures of exactly what u want and dye it too

How do you figure the tip at a salon when many people serve you?

At the salon, the bill is usually about $110 for shampoo/deep conditioner/cut/style/dry.

They have so many people supply the services. One person shampoos, another puts in the deep conditioner, then the shampoo person comes back and rinses, then a third person does the cut/style, and sometimes a fourth person dries.

I'm confused about who to tip, and how much. I know I should be tipping about 15%, but how to divide it?? Do I have to go over the %% to give everybody a decent tip, or just give the whole thing to the stylist?

I've had this happen at the nail salon, too. The manicure/pedicure special is $30, but one person manicures, then a 2nd person puts on the polish, then a 3rd person does the pedicure, and a 4th puts on the polish, and sometimes a 5th person will do the topcoat!

How do I split $5 fairly between so many people? Sometimes I feel like I should be wearing one of those change belts that bus drivers wear. How do you figure the tip at a salon when many people serve you?
Give the tip to the last person who helps you, they'll divide it up on their own.How do you figure the tip at a salon when many people serve you?
15 - 20% is standard. And since I'm in the service industry, I can tell you that they take care of the split. It may not be even, but it will be a fair share.
    Good question.

Just leave one tip and let them decide how to ration it.
give 15% of 110 which would be 16.50. i suggest 10 to the stylist, 2 bucks to the person washing ur hair, 2 bucks to the person drying it, 2 bucks to the person doing the conditioning.
I don't think any tip is necessary, unless you are dining out. You have already paid a fortune for the hair-do.. why loose more money?
Just let them figure it out.
whoever is taking money at the checkout gets it...then they can work it out
I take the chicken approach. I use my credit/debit card and add 15% that way.
at my salon the girls that do the other stuff....shampoos, rinse etc are all in training and my tip goes to my stylist. but if you are unsure and you have been going there a while ask your stylist, she will be able to advise you.

How often do you go to a nail salon?

What do you get done when you are there... ?How often do you go to a nail salon?
Haha! :) I love those colors! They look awesome! and I don't go often..my sister is really good at doing nails but I usually go like every couple months or so (Since I had surgery on my toe..I'm not really supposed to get anything done to it!! lol)How often do you go to a nail salon?
I go every other week to get a manicure, always french.

I don't get a pedicure as often every 3 weeks.

Sometimes it's more as certain weekends after clubbing I sometimes manage to destroy them :(

Although me and my best friend have had as tradition since we were like 10 to get certain colours done at certain times of the year so some months I get one done at least 3 times. Like for St Patricks day we always have them done green and Easter yellow/orange.

Personally I'm not a big fan of having colours done except midnight blue or red if it's just for every day wear.
Used to go every 2-3 weeks

get white tips on nails and white tips painted on toes...

but now I do them myself like half the price and most of all dont have to wait!!
    i go every 3-4 weeks.

I get a full mani pedi ; usually french mani pedi

    =)
I go as a treat. When I have been walking a ton. I get manipedi, usually just classic red. Always natural nails.
Every month. You should go to the doctor.
I go every 3 weeks, and get gel done. French manicure :)

No one salon is the best. The salon that is the best is one that meets your needs: you feel comfortable, the stylist listens to you %26amp; makes suggestions, you are happy when you leave %26amp; you feel you look your best.

What do you ask for at the hair salon when you want your hair layered but your ends thin?

it's really hard to explain, but that's why i'm asking. i got my hair done a month ago and i got layers but the hairstylist only layered like the top half of my hair, and left the bottom half cut bluntly at the same length with no layers whatsoever. i'm getting my hair cut again next week and i don't want this to happen again because i hate blunt cuts. Should i just ask for thinned out ends...? Or how exactly would I explain it?

If you have problems understanding my explanation just tell me.What do you ask for at the hair salon when you want your hair layered but your ends thin?
well you could bring in a pic to show them exactly want you want....but if you cant find one you could ask them to layer your hair and then thin it out....or show them specifically where you want the layers to fall. If you need to, you can just tell the hairstylist exactly what you're telling us.....ends thinWhat do you ask for at the hair salon when you want your hair layered but your ends thin?
Just tell him/her to layer all of your hair
i know what your talking about. different places have different ways of saying it. i'd say bring a picture so they know exactly what you want.
ask for it to either be cut with a razor if you want it really wispy or have them notch it (you might not like the razor cause it gives it a more dry wispy look. i love doing the notching). let them know you don't like the blunt look. tell them you want lots of layers which i believe it called increased layers. i'm guessing they cut your hair pulling it all straight up which doesn't give it enough layering in my opinion. if you have thick hair have them thin it out for you. hope this helps.

If you do know of any please tell me the name of the salon and the person to go to. I need someone that can give a percision cut and is excellent with color. Any where in the Springfield area, or Ozark area. Doesn't have to be those areas, just kind of around them. I need my hair cut fixed and my color. Please help me if you can, I'm desperate to look normal again. Try to find an AVEDA salon they are always tops. With natural products and plenty of training in how to use them.

How do they wash your hair in the salon? What do they do?

This is the first time I am going to the hair salon. I am 19. Is it embarressing. What happens if they see me with a soapy head of shampoo. How do they do it?How do they wash your hair in the salon? What do they do?
Step 1: They wet your hair

Step 2: They apply shampoo to your hair

Step 3: They lather the shampoo up by rubbing it into your scalp

Step 4: They rinse your hair

Step 5: (Optional) They dry your hairHow do they wash your hair in the salon? What do they do?
It depends on what you are getting done but if it's just a haircut (no color) they will straightaway take you to a sink with a groove in it where you can rest your neck. They'll lean you back into the sink (you'll be looking up at the ceiling) and soak your hair with warm-mildly hot water and then lather you up. After they wash out the shampoo they will condition your hair as well then towel any excess water off your hair. Then it's back to the chair to begin your cut! If a different person shampoos you than cuts your hair, remember to give them a couple of dollars for a tip.
Usually, they will bring you over to a specialized sink.

You'll sit in the salon chair, and tilt your head back into the space for your head in the sink. Here's a photo: http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm296鈥?/a>

They'll wet your hair, shampoo it, and sometimes condition it as well. They wash it out, and then blow dry your hair.

    It's actually very relaxing.

    Hope this helps. :)
It feels so relaxing! You just sit in the chair and they lean your chair back against the sink and they wet it then shampoo it and it feels like their giving you a head massage. Then they rinse with hot water and put conditioner in it. then they rinse it out. Nothing to be embarrassed of. I'm not sure if i answered your question but I hope I helped in some way :D
they put on the shampoo first and massage it in and then they put this syrum ontop and lather that in too..the wash that out and then they fifnish the wash with conditioner..when they finish the conditioning they should spray a detangling spray on your head

How much does a tanning bed at a salon cost?

I really want a good even tan. I really dont want to use lotion (afraid). How much would a tanning bed at a salon be worth? I really want to try, but not if they are expensive. How much does a tanning bed at a salon cost?
On the average $50 per 10 minutes. Yes, it doesn't take long. 10 minutes will give you a good start towards getting a good dose of skin cancer!

Now that's a twist. You're SCARED of a few chemicals that can quickly be WASHED off but you willingly will enter the HELL LIGHTS of UV rays to fry yourself silly!

what's wrong with this story? How much does a tanning bed at a salon cost?
Wow, it's really expensive where everyone else lives! I pay $7 a session, and unlimited for $32/ month. The lotion won't turn your skin orange unless you get the lotion with the bronzer in it. I'd recommend using a lotion w/ no bronzer, as it helps tan you more quick.
it depends on where you live but most beds are ten dollars.

that is usually for just a high ,med or low bed.

if you want to try and stand up bed or a bronzer it will cost more. ask about the packages when you go bc they can be helpful.

also, dont be afraid of lotions! i was afraid of them too but they will help darken your tan
10 dollars per session. 1-20 minutes. i recommend 8 minutes i got burned at 15.

Is it wierd to go to a hair salon with a picture of how you want your hair cut?

Everytime i go to get my hair cut, im not really satisfied.

So next time i go to get a hair cut, im thinking of bringing in a picture of how i want my hair cut.

Is this wierd to do?Is it wierd to go to a hair salon with a picture of how you want your hair cut?
It is THE MOST PRECISE way for you and your hair stylist to be on the same page...

I mean to some people, short hair might be shoulder length, to me short hair is a pixie cut... See what I mean?

Don't think it's wierd, the stylist will appreciate that because she will know EXACTLY what to do.

Hope this helps. Is it wierd to go to a hair salon with a picture of how you want your hair cut?
No definitely not! I'm a hairstylist and I can speak at least for my coworkers that we loveee when people bring in pictures! It gives us something concrete. Our visions of what you describe may be very different from yours. Bring a couple pictures. Even bring in some pictures of similar styles that you DON'T want. For example, I had a client who wanted a bob, but not the Rihanna/Victoria Beckham angled bob. So she brought me a pic of Victoria Beckham and said don't do this, and brought me a picture of the kind of bob she did want
All I can say is I do it all the time and they don't snigger or look at me wierd, they are completely used to people coming in with magazine cuttings asking for their hair to look like that. So no, it's not wierd!

    Hope I helped,

    Bonnie x
Not weird at all. I never get my haircut exactly how I want it either and I honestly think it is better to take a picture in to show them. They can look at it and know what the haircut actually is and you will be much more satisfied.
    No way

i do this and this way i can choose any look

and my hairdresser can see exactly what i want

so there are no mess ups

and your paying for it so you deserve to get what you want

    :D

    xx hope i helped xx
absolutely not! this is very normal, and i know lots of people who do this. some salons even have magazines for you to choose from. hop i helped; good luck with your haircut!
nope. gives the stylist a better idea of what you want, and they can better tailor it to your face and features.
i think they want you to so they get a better idea of what you want

    you praise them

    they get more buissness

    lol its normal
noo - i do this all the time, its like rare that id go get my hair cut without a pic. unless i just want a trim.
Well I dont know .. Not really ... Just showin you the styles basically

    .....
NO! It really helps the person doing your hair to no how exactly the way you want it.
no lotsa people do that, that way the stylist will most likely get it right.
no. it's actually a good idea to do that so they know exactlly how you want to look.
No. It's easier for the person to cut your hair if you have a picture of it.

    Hope this helps!
i do it all the time :)

  • Are there any beauty salons that specialize in african american hair in Tacoma, Wa.?

I'm looking myself for a salon. I wear a weave and I'm very picky about who touches my head. I've been to Hair Studio Plus and they gave me a great relaxer and they are very nice. But the salon atmosphere is a little on the ghetto side. When I go to the salon I like to feel like I'm at the spa and you will not get that feeling with them. But other than that, they are the best I've found so far. Good LuckAre there any beauty salons that specialize in african american hair in Tacoma, Wa.?
There is one that does African Canadiens.

It's totally okay... unless if your pregnant, because pregnant women shouldn't die their hair, because it's unsafe.Does hair dye, the once u get from normal hair salons effect ur health?
as far as your health goes I would say it's fine. But the health of your hair I would be worried about....
I have been doing hair for 25 yrs and nothing has gone wrong on me, and I am around the stuff all the time. Now it is going be really hard on your hair, your hair will be dry and brittle so get some good conditioner, also if you dye your hair too much it will start to break off. Hence the reason for some good conditioner with moisture and protein in it to help out your hair.
no it shouldn't affect your health at all. It's not healthy for your hair to be dyed a lot because it strips it of natural oils that keep it healthy but it doesn't affect your health what so ever

Does a salon have to guarantee a job to a hairdressing apprentice at the end of their training?

My son is on an apprenticeship scheme with a salon where he works for them 4 days a week and goes to college on a day realease one day a week. His training is due to end next June. Will the salon have to guarantee him a placement in the salon at the end of his training?Does a salon have to guarantee a job to a hairdressing apprentice at the end of their training?
Not by any means I'm afraid.Does a salon have to guarantee a job to a hairdressing apprentice at the end of their training?
Unless they specifically said so, I don't think they guarantee it. It's training for his career, but that doesn't mean they'll need help at the end of his apprenticeship. If they like him, they might hire him, he should keep his options open though.
hiya, no they don't.my daughter had this argument with the person her son did a apprentice with.in the end they let him go,because they could not afford to take anymore staff on.he work hard for 2 yrs and finish up with nothing.he can't get a job anywhere, even tho he has his papers.
    No, they don't have to.

Most people on apprenticeships do get asked to stay on if they have potential.

A good salon for a guy to get his hair colored in Atlanta?

I'm a college student and my best girl friend on campus got me into coloring my hair cause it looks better a darker brown, I'm not gay either. I go to school in Florida, and need to find a salon in North Atlanta

Thanks!A good salon for a guy to get his hair colored in Atlanta?
Rock-It salon, hands down. I got my hair colored there for years before I opened my own. The staff is younger and really rocker-chick, and not snotty, so you'll feel comfortable. They cater to rockstars, too.

    They have a webpage, rockitsalon.com, I think.

Sigger is also good, but pricey and hard to get into.

How to get bouncy, sleeky hair like the salon?

My hair is always flat and ends will never work for me so I wanted to know how to get my hair bouncy and sleeky like the salons? Is there some steps on how i should do it and get it?

-I have African-American hair. How to get bouncy, sleeky hair like the salon?
you have to wash your hair and brush it out while you are blow drying it clip your ends so they can grow longer and use the stove flat irons for ur hair dnt use the electric that you plug in then it wont work and wen you finished straightenin it put hair spray in your hair so i can fall a bit cus itz gonna b puffy a bit and thats all your hair will be bouncy and look more healthyHow to get bouncy, sleeky hair like the salon?
You should go to a salon, get your hair situated (the ends, split ends, etc) and ask them how to maintain it, take care of it, wash it, what products to use according to your hair type, etc.

Me personally, i go to the salon every week, but thats only because my mom has no idea how to do my hair [as far as relaxers] and she doesnt want to ruin it. When I'm at home, I wrap it, and sometimes put creme conditioner on..but not too much, or it gets greasy! also try not to use extra unneccesary heat :]
ask them what products they used on your hair, then buy them!

here are some good product lines:

aveda~this is what my stylist uses, and it's really good! they're all natural and made from plants, and make my hair super soft and shiny

carols daughter~its a little bit less expensive, plus its made especially for aferican american women. i've never tried it, but i've heard great things about it!

    other tips:

rinse your hair with cold water to make it shiny (you can also blow-dry it with a blow dryer on the cool setting)

use a deep conditioning mask once a week

get your end trimmed every 6-8 weeks to prevent split ends

answer my question too please? :)

Will a self tanner from the drugstore look as good as going to the tanning salon?

I mean going for a spray tan. If so what brand? And I'm pretty pale. If a get a tanner meant for darker skin tone will I tan quicker? Or will it just look bad? And should I use a spray or lotion? Will a self tanner from the drugstore look as good as going to the tanning salon?
It's very easy to go outside and climb a tree or go for a walk, and it's 10X more healthier than putting some fake lotion onto your skin. And its definitely healthier than sitting in a tanning booth. Those are hazardous to your health.

Just go outside for half an hour a day and you will notice vast improvements. Will a self tanner from the drugstore look as good as going to the tanning salon?
Personally i do a little of both. I live in Alaska where in the winter we get less than 3 hours of sunlight so come spring time im as white as the snow. I like to tan but i dont want to overdo or put myself at more risk for skin cancer. So for prom i go to the Salon and tan in a tanning bed, then everyday i apply Dove sun kissed self tanner. The Salon part helped me build a base tan and then the self tanner helps me keep my color. Until prom i go to the salon once every two weeks and apply tanner every other day. After prom ill just keep applying self tanner. Hope that Helped!
    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Drugstore self tanners f^%26amp;%ed up my skin for a really long time!!

I looked half orange and it looked like i had a weird skin disease...

If you want a tan wait for the summer and go to the beach! Tanning salons and pretty much a waste of money and its dangerous for your skin anyways!
IDK it really depends on how well you apply it.. whenever i see some one that looks like a totally fake and bake its pretty obvious. so i suggest you tan the natural way.

In the long run, i think that tanning in a salon and using self tanner both have the same outcomee. BECOMING ORANGEE lol. self tanner is just messier.
I think a lotion is better. My sister used it and it worked you just have to put an even coat on yourself!
in the long run yes, tanning salons will age you very very fast. try st. tropaz
